TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY- Mamadou Sakho officially joins Liverpool from PSG:

Liverpool have made their second signing of the day, completing a deal for Paris St-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.

Mamadou Sakho, a 23-year-old France international, has signed a "long-term contract" at Anfield.

He told the club's website: "I'm delighted to be here. I'd like to thank everyone for the welcome.

"I came here because the project that is in place at Liverpool interests me. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game."

The move for Sakho, together with the earlier deal for Tiago Ilori, has cost Liverpool £25m

Man United to complete Fellaini deal today:

Marouane Fellaini's move from Everton to Manchester United is one of the big deals expected to go through today.

Talks are still ongoing and reliable sources in Belgium are suggesting the giant midfield man will start pushing very hard for this deal to go through if negotiations get a little too close to deadline for his liking.

The other half of United's proposed move on Everton is England defender Leighton Baines. The word on Merseyside last night was that the chances of this deal also being completed are receding. Everton simply do not want to countenance selling Baines.
