Glo hails Eagles for beating Stallions

Telecommunications operator, Globacom,
has congratulated the Super Eagles on the
4-1 victory over the Stallions of Burkina
Faso in their friendly match played in
Kaduna on Tuesday.
Eagles trounced the fellow West African
team as Brown Ideye, Shola Ameobi and
Emmanuel Emenike netted four goals
before the Burkinabes reduced the tally
with a consolatory goal scored in the late
minutes of the match.
"The latest Super Eagles' feat is expected
to raise Nigeria's profile in the new FIFA
ranking expected on Thursday, as well as
motivate the coaches to prepare for the
final round of the World Cup 2014
qualifiers scheduled for October and
November," Globacom said in a
statement in Lagos on Wednesday.
"We are pleased that the Eagles and their
coaching crew gave the match the
seriousness it deserved by outplaying the
Burkinabes, and we believe the success
coming three days after Nigeria beat
Malawi to secure qualification for the final
round has further demonstrated that we
are true African champions," the
statement added.
According to Globacom, greater challenge
lay ahead of Nigeria as the Eagles fly
toward final landing in Brazil next year.
"Our reputation as African champions will
once again be put to test as we face the
final match. Therefore, we recommend a
multi-dimensional approach by all
stakeholders to ensure that Nigeria
overcome any opposition in our path,
thus securing the berth to the 2014 World
Cup finals," Globacom said.
Globacom is the official
telecommunications partner of the Nigeria
Football Federation and the major
sponsor of the Nigerian national teams.
