ASUU Strike: Nigeria police officer kills hustling FUTA student in Lagos

A Nigerian police officer, on Tuesday, inIkorodu area of Lagos allegedly killed astudent of the Federal University ofTechnology, Akure FUTA fordisobeying the Lagos transport law.The victim, Kunle, aka Ifa, was hustlingwith the motorbike to make some moneywhile waiting for the Nigerian governmentand university lecturers to settle anongoing strike and call students back tocampus.Nigerian university lecturers called for astrike since July to force the Nigeriangovernment to honour an agreement itreached with the lecturers in 2009. Thestrike meant millions of Nigerianuniversity students were forced to returnhome.The murder of Kunle sparked a briefprotest in the community.
