Syria conflict: 'Chemical attacks' near Damascus

Chemical weapons attacks have killeddozens on the outskirts of Damascus,Syrian opposition activists claim.Rockets with toxic agents were launchedat the suburbs of the Ghouta region inthe early hours of Wednesday morning,they say.Footage uploaded to YouTube byactivists shows many people beingtreated in makeshift hospitals.A team of UN inspectors arrived in Syriaon Sunday to probe earlier allegations ofchemical weapons use.The attack took place as part of heavygovernment bombardment of the regionsurrounding Damascus, wheregovernment forces have been trying todrive out rebel forces.Videos uploaded from the scene showvictims, including many children, havingconvulsions. 28 worshippers killed in Anambra stampede

NO fewer than 28 persons, who attended the weekly crusade at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, in Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, lost their lives during a stampede at the end of the ceremony in the early hours of yesterday. The crusade, organized by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma for prayers, healing and spiritual retreat, attracts thousands of people, but the one that was held yesterday on the Feast of All Saints turned tragic.
