Police rescue 2 kids, 4 others from kidnappers in Delta

The Police in Delta State onWednesday said it rescued six kidnappedpersons, including a mother and hertwo kids, from their captors on ObiarukuRoad, Obinoba.The Police Public Relations Officer in theState, Lucky Uyabeme, told newsmen inAsaba that the victims were rescued onTuesday.He said they were kidnapped aroundEkpoma and Igbanke towns in Edo andwere being taken them to an unknowndestination in Delta when the policeintercepted them.Mr. Uyabeme named the woman as GloryBarry and her children: Zoryii, 3, andOremene, 2. Police received information that somesuspected kidnappers operating in a skyblue Siena bus, red Nissan Primera andred Kia Cerato cars kidnapped somepersons around Ekpoma and Igbanketowns in Edo and headed toward Delta. Sequel to the information, the SpecialAnti-kidnapping Unit went in search of thehoodlums and intercepted them atObinoba, he said.The spokesperson said the police had agun duel with the suspects during whichthe kidnappers were forced to abandontheir victims
