Afenifere group blasts Jonathan on ASUU strike, education funding

The Afenifere Renewal Group says federalgovernment is insensitive to the needs ofthe education sector.The Afenifere Renewal Group has beratedthe federal government over their insensitivity to the education sector.In a statement signed by Kunle Famoriyo,the group s Publicity Secretary, theYoruba socio-political body urged theNational Assembly to activate itsoversight functions and unravel thereason for discrepancy betweenbudgetary allocation and policyimplementation in the sector. We want to point out that federalgovernment has never taken anyconscious step to drive growth in ourtertiary education system and the littleimprovement since 1999 is attributable toforced action from strikes.
